Do I need my own clubs for lessons?
No. Zach will provide you with what you need but if you have your own clubs we do recommend bringing them as it makes sense to get comfortable with what you will be using. For the Introductory class he recommends a Pitching Wedge (PW or 10) OR 9 iron. For Chipping, either of those clubs AND an 8 or 7 iron. For Woods, just a driver (1 wood)
Do I need my own clubs to play in the League?
No. Should anyone need to rent clubs for League play, 2 people can share clubs and split the cost, $6 total ($3 a piece if sharing). You would need to go into the Pro Shop and ask for rental clubs. And since some of you are new, we negotiated a 3 hole rate with the course so if you’d like to play more, please ask and I will find out what the additional fee is.
Where do I sign in?
Please come to the Brew Works on the Green at the Allentown Municipal Golf Course – there will be a registration table, I’ll be there to greet you and introduce you to Zach. Please try to arrive a few minutes early as we will be sending you over to the pro shop for payment. You are of course welcome to join us beforehand for drinks or dinner. To see the menu, click here.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes – sneakers are fine. You’ll be heading down to the driving range so no need to dress to impress – this is just an introductory course so there is no wrong golf apparel – think fun!
What happens in the event of rain?
Zach and I will try to make a determination by 4 pm of that day to determine whether we are playing. In general, classes will be cancelled in the event of rain and especially in the event of lightening. Please be sure to check your email or call my cell 215-704-9497 if you are unsure.
What should I do if I can’t make my class?
Except in case of emergency, we require at least 24 hours notice of cancellation as we do waitlist others for class and want to give them ample time to prepare to attend. It is also out of fairness to the golf pro as we have negotiated a set rate based on a minimum attendance.
What if I don’t drink wine?
We’d be happy to substitute one of our Flagship Beers (sometimes more refreshing after a hot day of golfing!) or a non-alcoholic beverage for you – just ask your server.
