About
Tickle Me Tryouts is a free weekly comedy open mic for anyone wanting to try stand up comedy. Everyone will be given 5 minutes to perform their material. Audience members are always welcome! This is a great opportunity for new comics to try out some material or for seasoned vets to enjoy the experience. We always draw a good crowd, and we hope to see you come out.
Your Hosts:
Jason Brown
Jason is a stand up comic that got his start right here on the Tickle Me Tryout stage. He now performs all over Pa, NJ, and NY. He host a weekly podcast called “Something, something… Punch line!!!” where you can hear his take on current events in the world of geekdom. He is a writer for The Nightcap with Glen Tickle and also has a comedy blog.
Glen Tickle
Tickle is really his last name. When he’s not explaining that to people Glen is usually writing or performing comedy things, or gallivanting around New Jersey where he lives with his wife and dog, Elvis Costello. The dog’s name is Elvis Costello. Glen does not live with the human Elvis Costello. Yet.
Comedy Makers
The Lehigh Valley is becoming known as a solid comedy destination among comedians. Local performers and established talents from New York City and Philadelphia are all abuzz about the area’s hunger for nightclub style comedy acts. These comedy makers know they can join in at the Bethlehem Brew Works, where we host the Lehigh Valley’s original Comedy Open Mic Night, Tickle Me Tryouts! Every other Sunday comedians get their chance to tryout material in front of an audience and test the waters. Newcomers to the comedy scene are encouraged to take the plunge as well, which can add a different type of comedy altogether (kind of like the laughs you can get from a fabulously off-key karaoke duet of “Candle in the Wind”).
Jason Brown hosts the evening adding some extra laughs, style and wit.
So…take the leap and get a chance at your big break…
