Special Comedy Event at the Allentown Brew Works
“Under the Gaydar” is Kicking off an East Coast tour!
The Lehigh Valley’s premier home for stand-up comedy brings yet another excellent special show to Allentown: Under the Gaydar, featuring four of the best young gay and lesbian comics from New York City! Presented by Ryan Hill, host of Tickle Me Tuesdays at the Allentown Brew Works, this show will actually be the kick-off to their East Coast tour.
The four comics who make up Under the Gaydar have already been seen on MTV, VH1, Logo, here! tv, Aqua Girl, DC Comedy Festival and at Pride events and colleges across the country. They are Dave Rubin (host, Hot Gay Comics, Topical on here!), Jackie Monahan (Logo’s One Night Stand Up, Girls on Girls on here!), Shawn Hollenbach (Hot Gay Comics, “Busted” podcast) and Claudia Cogan (Raw Dog comedy, Afterellen.com). Cogan was seen on the Brew Works’ stage in October as part of the Obama Girls of Comedy; she’s excited to come back to the LV: “I loved that room when the Obama Girls came, and it was obvious that the Brew Works was very gay-friendly. I can’t wait to see how strong the Lehigh Valley gay community is!”
This special comedy event will be held on Tuesday, March 31st at 8pm in the High Gravity Lounge, above the main floor of the restaurant.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12.50 at the door; advance tickets can only be purchased online. Reservations cannot be made without advance ticket purchase. Doors will open at 6:30 to advance ticket holders, and at 7:15 to walk-ups.

Under the Gaydar Cast
DAVE RUBIN
Dave Rubin is a ten year veteran of the NYC stand-up circuit. In addition performing regularly at all the major comedy clubs (Carolines, Gotham, Comix, etc.), he also started two clubs run by comedians themselves, Joe Franklin’s Comedy Club and The Comedy Company. After 7 years in the closet, he came out only a few years ago and things really started to fall into place. The here! Network quickly picked him up as the host of two podcasts: Hot Gay Comics, offering interviews with gay comics from all over, and Topical, a weekly roundtable of current events with other gay personalities. Hot Gay Comics Live was also picked up by the network with Dave as the host, and debuted on television in November, 2008.
JACKIE MONAHAN
Quickly becoming a local favorite at Gotham and Caroline’s on Broadway, Jackie took her show on the road headlining at Clubs and Colleges all over the country as part of the LOL (Lesbians of Laughter) Tour. When she is not on the road with the LOL tour, she is busy around Manhattan doing spots on Maxim’s Sirius radio and VH1 shows. Look out for Jackie’s star-making appearance on One Night Stand Up for LOGO. Her hit podcast “Girls on Girls” on the HERE network has broadened an already impressive fan base. Jackie most recently won the TIME OUT NY 2009 “Joke of the Year”. This summer, she takes her act to the Caribbean to entertain on Olivia Cruise getaways.
SHAWN HOLLENBACH
Shawn Hollenbach is a New York based stand-up comedian, improv actor and songwriter. He has been featured on two episodes of Hot Gay Comics Live on here! TV and is the host of a celebrity video podcast, Busted. Shawn is the producer of Closet Cases, a Critics’ Pick for Time Out NY and a Homo Must for HX Magazine. He co-produces The Back Room at Comix Ochi’s Lounge and The Skip and Sparkle Variety Show as Skip Lickdale. Shawn has also been on the Comedy Central at Crash Mansion Showcase and has performed with the Funny Gay Males 20th Anniversary Show. You can also see him in the short film Second Guessing Grandma directed by Bob Giraldi (director of music videos Beat It, Love is a Battlefield and Hello) starring next to Tony Award Nominee, Kathleen Chalfont.
CLAUDIA COGAN
Deemed “hilarious” by Time Out New York and an “acerbic wit” by The New York Post, Claudia is poised for national attention. She was nominated two years in a row for “Best Female Stand Up” in the 2008 and 2009 ECNY Awards. In January 2008, Claudia won the first ever Time Out New York “Joke of the Year.” Claudia has performed at Caroline’s, Comix, Stand Up New York, Laugh Lounge, M Bar (LA), the UCB Theatre and the DC Comedy Festival. She spent October in swing states on The Obama Girls of Comedy Tour. Fans of satellite radio may have heard her on Raw Dog Comedy and the Derek and Romaine Show. Her work has appeared on After Ellen’s “Fake Gay News”, collegehumor.com, and bestweekever.tv. Look for her on here! Networks’s Hot Gay Comics. She’s the lesbian in the blazer.
