ROLL OUT THE BARRELS

The Award Winning Brewery Adds Additional 1,200 BBLS/Yr

Allentown, PA– Fegley’s Brew Works rolled ‘in’ 3 NEW huge fermenting tanks to the Allentown Brew Works location Wednesday. The new tanks will allow the brewery to produce an additional amount of beer equal to the brewing operation at the original Bethlehem Brew Works location. Trucks arrived at 7AM, and riggers wrangled the tanks into the brewery from the rear entrance for a good portion of the day Wednesday. The 3 new tanks join two existing 30BBL tanks that were recently installed in May of 2011.

“We’ve been brewing at capacity for a long time. In 2010, we hit our peak at 66% above our 2009 numbers. That’s when we knew we needed a way to make more beer. Those two 2011 tanks added 50% more capacity, but it didn’t give us any breathing room – we peaked out the moment they went on line – we just worked harder,” said a smiling Brewmaster Beau Baden, “And when these tanks go live, we’ll probably bring on some more help because, well, we’ll need it.”

According to 2011 production numbers from the Brewers Association, Fegley’s Brew Works ranked in the top 40 brewpubs in the nation, and the additional three tanks coming Wednesday will bring their brewing production to 5,000 BBLS annually. This will rank the family-owned Lehigh Valley brewery as one of the TOP 5 BREWPUBS in the Northeast United States.
