Fegley’s Craft Beer Festival Returns Dec. 6th!

November 28th, 2014 | , ,

On December 6th, Fegley’s Brew Works will be holding their 6th annual Craft Beer Festival at their Allentown Brew Works restaurant and brewery. Fegley’s will be hosting over twenty-five breweries sampling more than fifty different varieties of craft beer, ciders and mead.

The event is a celebration of craft beer and a unique glimpse at the work and effort that goes into producing the varieties available. With more than two dozen breweries represented, Fegley’s Craft Beer Festival remains the largest craft beer festival in the Lehigh Valley. Offerings will highlight local craft breweries as well as national. Local breweries: Funk, Saucony Creek, and HiJinx (among others) will pour alongside Stone, Stoudt’s, Ithaca and many more. Colony Meadery of Allentown and Stonekeep Meadery of Boyertown will also be in attendance.

Fegley’s Craft Beer Festival is divided into two sessions each lasting three hours. There will also be a limited admission VIP Hour held for one hour before the first session that will allow diehard craft beer enthusiasts a chance to speak intimately with the brewery representatives on hand. VIP Hour will be held from 12pm-1pm. Session A is 1pm-4pm and Session B is 5pm-8pm.

In addition to other special tappings during the VIP Hour, Fegley’s Brew Works award-winning Arctic Alchemy will also be sampled. The gold medal was awarded for Arctic Alchemy at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival in Colorado this past October after it’s bronze medal win in 2011. VIP ticket holders will also have a chance to meet craft beer reporter, journalist and beer enthusiast Don Russell aka “Joe Sixpack”.

Along with the assortment of breweries represented, there will also be boutique vendors and specialty stores for early Holiday browsing. To compliment the festivities, a two hour buffet filled with pub-style favorites will be offered during each session.

Among the many popular festivals held yearly at Allentown Brew Works, Fegley’s Craft Beer Festival attracts the largest crowd with many repeat ticket holders. When asked why he thinks the Craft Beer Festival seems to be the biggest draw, owner Rich Fegley said, “The Lehigh Valley embraces this festival because it’s more than just sampling really good, and often rare, craft beer. It’s about beer comradery, discussion, and education (terrific food helps too!) People like to support, local, family owned and operated businesses and really get a kick out of exploring a festival inside of a live operating, award-winning brewery.”
