Fegley’s Brew Works and Victory Brewing Company Collaboration Brew

Fegley’s Brew Works brewery team and owners are proud to welcome Bill Covaleski, Brewmaster and President of Victory Brewing Company, to the Allentown Brew Works Friday, March 13th to brew a beer alongside Brewmaster Beau Baden. The collaboration beer is being brewed in honor of “Opening Pint” at the Meeting of the Malts IV on April 2nd at Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works. The Meeting of the Malts IV, hosted by the Brewers of PA, will include special guests: Dick Yuengling, Jim Koch, Bill Covaleski & Steve Hindy.

Brewing will begin at Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works at approximately 8:30am, ending around 2pm, with a break for lunch. A Meet & Greet with Bill Covaleski and Beau Baden is scheduled to follow from 4:30pm to 5:30pm in the main bar area of the brewpub.

The ale scheduled to be brewed will be an American interpretation of an English style ESB (Extra Special Bitter). American and English hops will be used to give the beer a prominent hop presence with a higher IBU of 45 rather than the typical 25 to 35 IBUs for a traditional ESB. The beer will be brewed with an independent, family owned Fuller’s Brewery English yeast strain and English style malts to create a strong malt backbone and smooth finish.

Get your first taste of the collaboration brew on April 2nd at Opening Pint. The ESB will be available on draft after the Meeting of the Malts IV at Fegley’s Allentown and Bethlehem Brew Works locations. The beer will be named “E.S.B.O.P” – Extra Special Bitter / Brewers Of PA – a collaboration of initials suited perfectly for a collaboration brew.
