Fegley’s Whisky Festival

Allentown, PA – On Saturday October 18th, Fegley’s Brew Works will be holding their annual Whisky Festival from 5pm-8pm on two floors at the Allentown Brew Works.  There will be more than twenty four different styles of whisky to choose sampling from. Countries including the United States, Canada, Ireland, and Scotland will be represented in the selection. Fegley’s Whisky Festival is the first of three Fall festivals with their “fALL Chocolate Festival” and “Fegley’s Brew Works Craft Beer Festival” to follow.

Craft beer and whisky seem to go hand-in-hand. Head Brewer Josh Bushey of Fegley’s Bethlehem Brew Works commented, “It’s like putting peanut butter and chocolate together, it just works. When you age craft beer in whisky barrels; the beer mellows, picks up tannins, char and the natural character of the oak barrel.” Over the years, Fegley’s brewery has aged many of their popular brands in whisky barrels such as Bourbon Barrel Insidious Imperial Stout and Bourbon Barrel Devious Imperial Pumpkin Ale.

Along with a variety of whisky, Fegley’s award-winning craft beers and couple of exclusive ‘one-off’ brews will be offered at the festival. Josh Bushey will be tapping “Bourbon Barrel Aged Wheatwine” –  Bethlehem Brew Works’ 16th Anniversary wheatwine aged for 4 months in freshly dumped bourbon barrels. Vanilla and coconut from the oak will blend well with the big, malty based beer.

Whisky Festival attendees will have the opportunity to be among the first to sample Brew Master Beau Baden’s “Bourbon Barrel Aged Delusional Imperial Coffee Stout”. Additionally, there will be craft beer selections from Weyerbacher, Blue Mountain, Anderson Valley, and New Holland Brewing.

Attendees will also enjoy a Southern-style, whisky influenced menu including a carving station, seafood, Fegley’s award-winning pulled pork, and a flambé station for dessert.
